Aion v1.9 Interview

How does this system differ to the Daily Quest reward rental system?
Kinslon: The items you receive from the daily quest reward system are rarer and have a wider variety of time limitations (3, 7 and 14 days). For the longer time lengths, it will take a lot more daily quest completions to be able to get these. The Mist Rental weapons are all 14 day weapons and are available every 5 levels so players can use them at a wide range of levels. Also, they are great for players who want to rent a good weapon to power through a weekend or instance instead of completing several daily quests to get the higher stat weapons or paying potentially a lot more for a weapon they would shortly outgrow.
Aquilanius: What are the limitations of the items?
Kinslon: Items from the Mist rental shop can’t be stored, sold or traded, and will disappear once theirtime has expired. They also can’t been hanced in any way (enchants, godstone or manastones can’t be added).
Aquilanius: What are the stats and quality of the items? Can you give us a few examples?
Kinslon: The stats and quality of the items range depending on level, but all are of Heroic (blue) level. The specific stats will vary from level to level, but below is a couple of examples of the Mist items. It’s important to note that all armor/weaponitems within the same level and type are the same price. For example, you’ll pay the same amount for alevel 35 Mist cloth Tunic as you would for a level 35 Mist Breastplate. The same is true for weapons. (Please note these prices will vary as the influence ratio for each world changes – similar to current item prices on the live servers.)
Aquilanius: How does the Armsfusion and Armsbreaking system work? Which stats are kept after two weapons are fused together?
Kinslon: Before a player performs an Armsfusion, there are a couple of pre-reqs. The weapons must be the same type (IE 2polearms, 2 two-handed swords, etc). Additionally the ‘main’ two-handed weapon level must be higher or equal to the secondary weapon items level. With all this in mind, once the fusion takes place, the following changes will occur:
·20% of the secondary weapon’s basic attack power andmagic boost are added to the main weapon (stats lower on secondary weaponaren’t changed)
·The secondary weapon’s options are added to the main weapon (in the event that both weapons have the same stats like attack speed, casting speed, etc only the higher value is applied)
·All manastone slots from the secondary weapon are added to the primary weapon (as are any manastones currently equipped on the secondary weapon)
Aquilanius: What happens to the existing manastones and godstones on the weapon after the transformation?
Kinslon: Manastones are kept for both weapons. In the case of the secondary weapon, if manastones are equipped they are transferred over to the main weapon. Also, when you add manastones or god stones to a weapon that has already been fused, you can pick which weapon you want to socket the stones to (primary or secondary). Godstoneswill always be added to the primary weapon. Once the weapon is broken apart, it will still be attached to the mainweapon. Enchant stones will function thesame way as godstones do, where they will be added to the primary weapon only, and will remain on the primary weapon after the weapon has been broken down.
Aquilanius: Can I revert the process? If so, what happens if I want to use the base weapon again but with a different weapon, what happens to the initial 2nd weapon?
Kinslon: The secondary weapon is destroyed in the armsfusion process. You can undo the fusion and return the main weapon back to the way it was before, but you will lose the secondary weapon in the process. Undoing the process will allow you to redo the process with another secondary weapon of the same type if you choose.
Aquilanius: Are there any limitations to the weapons that can utilize the Armsfusion system?
Kinslon: Thereare some weapons that, although they fit into the 2 handed category, will notbe combinable with other weapons. Theseweapons include Mist items, timed daily quest reward items, and skin changeitems. Aside from that as long as thegoverning rules for the two weapons being fused are met, combine at will!

Aion v1.9 Interview

Aion updateAion v1.9 is coming up just around the corner and our Daeva of Journalism, Aquilanius, had the opportunity to interrogate Producer Chris "Kinslon" Hager. During the interview, Kinslon is forthcoming with the nitty-gritty information about the stun defense system and daily quests coming in 1.9. Over the coming weeks we plan to continue these mini interviews until Kinslon’s information well is dry. Stay tuned!
Aquilanius: How exactly will the stun defense skills work?
Kinslon: You can purchase the Remove Shock skill from your character's appropriate skill trainer (preceptor). Once your character has learned the skill you've purchased, if your character becomes stunned in combat, Remove Shock becomes available as a chain skill that you can use to remove the stun and increase your character's resistance to stun, knockback, and similar conditions for 7 seconds. At later levels, class-specific skills that you can also learn will act as chain skills that let you go on the offensive in addition to the basic abilities of Remove Shock.
Aquilanius: How will skills be acquired? Are they Stigma skills or skills taught by an NPC?
Kinslon: At level 40, every class can purchase the Remove Shock skill from the appropriate skill trainer (preceptor). Remove Shock is a regular skill that can be learned after being purchased. The higher-level chain skills that follow Remove Shock can also be purchased from class preceptors.
Aquilanius: What purpose does this stun defense have in overall class balance?
Kinslon: With each update in an MMO, the game designers need to rebalance the game's classes as players progress in skill and learn tactics that allow them to optimize (and sometimes overly optimize) specific class abilities. In the Aion 1.9 update, every class can now counteract and counterattack stun blocks to a degree. This strengthens the balance of all of Aion's classes. Future updates will continue to balance and shape each class, allowing players to shift tactics as new and different skills are introduced, and 1.9 is no exception.
Aquilanius: For which level ranges will you offer daily quests?
Kinslon: Each race has two sets of daily quest factions it can join. One faction gives quests starting at level 30, and the other faction starts at level 40. Once a character joins a faction, an icon appears each day in the UI that offers a new daily quest for that day. You can choose to either accept or decline a daily quest as it pops up each day, but you will continue to receive a daily quest each day until your character leaves the faction that gives those quests.
Aquilanius: What are the rewards of daily quests?
Kinslon: Ah, but that would be telling! Seriously, though, I don’t want to ruin the surprise of the specific rewards. I will say that the quest givers will offer are a wide range of rewards, from XP and Kinah to mist (time-limited) weapons, armor, and even some new titles!
Aquilanius: How much time will I need to invest in for a daily quest?
Kinslon: The time players will need to complete a daily quest will vary depending on if you are questing solo or in a group, which faction you join, and the specifics of the quest. The game designers wanted you to have some variety! Some daily quests will require more effort, but the rewards will also be proportionately greater.

For different Aion guides

THANK YOU! for visiting my blog, here you'll find a good collection of guides, tips, and strategy that will help you level faster, earn more kinah (Aion in game money), and remove any frustrations you have so you can enjoy and get more out of the game, after all you pay to play the game for enjoyment.
There are going to be affiliate links for different Aion guides, and if you do buy any strategy guy from those guys in the future, hopefully they will send a commission. If you've a problem with the affiliate link simply don't click on them, read the guides(they are free and always will be) and get what you can from it and that's it... doesn't cost you a thing other than your time.
As I try to make all my guides easy to understand for both experienced Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG) players, and the beginner here is a brief introduction to Aion Online.
Aion was developed and release by NCSoft, which is a major game development company in Korea. NCSoft is also the creators of some of the most popular MMORPG titles such as Lineage, Lineage 2, and Guid Wars. Aion was first release in South Korea on November 25, 2008, later in Japan/China, and finally on September 23/25, 2009 in NA/EU respectively under the title of "Aion".
Aion follows the story of a world Atreia that was torn into half during the war between Empryean Lords(Daeva/Human) and the The Dragon Lords(Balaurs). In the beginner there are 2 different race who inhabits Atreia, Humans, and the Balaurs. The Balaurs being a far more advanced race created by Aion. After the great cataclysm the humans race is divided into 2 factions, the Asmodians, and Elyos. The Asmodian inhabits the upper half of Ateria, the Elyos inhabits the lower half, and the Balaurs inhabits the Abyss also the middle of Ateria. Finally the last thing you need to know is that all 3 factions are at war with each other.
Even though there are 3 different factions in the game, only 2 are playable, the Elyos, and the Asmodians. The Balaur are a None-Playable Character which are controlled by the game, and is also what makes PvPvE(Player vs Player vs Enviroment) possible in Aion. Aion also has a very unique system which allows you to fly, because of this unique system that allows players to interact from more different angles, then the traditional MMORPGs. So when it comes to PvP/PvE in Aion you're not only having to pay attention of your front and back, but also what's above and below you.
There are a four primary class that you start with, and they are the same for both Elyos/Asmodian, Warrior, Mage, Scout, or Priest. After you become a Daeva(reaching leveling 9) you can specialized in a total of eight specialized classes, and again they are the same for both factions. However keep in mind that you may only choose your specialized class according to your primary class. The Primary and Specialized Classes:
Warrior -> Templar, or Gladiator. Scout -> Ranger, or Assassin. Mage -> Spiritmaster, or Sorcerer. Priests -> Cleric, or Chanter. All classes have their own talents, abilities, and a unique playing style.
You'll also need to earn kinah(Aion in game currency) to finance your gears, and customable items. Which is a big part of you being successful in the land of Aion.
Another aspect of your Aion strategy is to master different types of professions. There are 2 general type of profession in Aion, first is gather responsible for gathering raw materials, and the second type is Crafting, which puts all the raw materials to use.
- Gather Professions: Aether Gathering, Vitality Gathering- Crafting Professions: Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Tailoring, Cooking, Alchemy, and Handicraft.

Screenshots on New Skill in Aion 1.9

With the raise of level cap inaion gold 1.9, every classe take new skills. First of all is Dispel Shock skill for every classes. It requires level 40 and will increase player's resistance to stun, stagger, stumble, spin, and aerial thrust. Here let's take a preview of the new skills' screenshots from Aion Korea test server.
The aion power leveling siege system timer have been topics for debate dating back to a patch we released for Aion just before the end of last year. The argument is that the new 30-minute siege duration, during which the Guardian Deity is present, is too short for a siege to be easily completed. The timer change was initially brought to the table when we wanted to make fortresses change hands less often and be more valued.

The different blog

MMOsiter Lee Jun Ji from Korea has just reported an important piece of info to us that a series of new concept art has been unveiled on the blog , one of NCsoft's top designers. According the article, Kim is now the designer responsible for NCsoft's new project - Fantasy Aion - an anime-style Aion. The Fantasy Aion art below are from this blog.
We sent an email to NCsoft and they have confirmed this new project. The spokesman said that Fantasy Aion is planned to be free-to-play so that other players who can not afford the fee of Aion can give it a try. They will prove that Aion not only looks pretty but also has wonderful gameplay with this new anime-style version of the game.

So far, we only know that they have kept the two races in the original Aion, but will there be another awesome character DIY system in Fantasy Aion? We will keep reporting on Fantasy Aion, just keep watching!

If you are interested in Aion trial?

If you are interested in Aion trial, you can enjoy great discount here! It is always a hot topic about accounts security, all players want to keep their password for their favourite game safe. No one wants to have their accounts hacked or have their passwords lost to someone who's willing to sell all of their items for gold, kinah, or what have you. So today, as a friendly public service announcement, we here at Massively would like to remind you to make sure you double and triple check any correspondence that looks like it comes from NCsoft or your favorite game company. Today we've received an e-mail telling us that our Aion account password had been changed, and if it wasn't us that we needed to go to the NCsoft master account site and change it back.
Do you have time to earn gold ? If you don't have time to earn gold, you can buy gamestop aion beta keys at our website. Then perhaps most importantly, get back. Everyone needs to stand back as upon the door falling, at least two elites will rush out to engage you and they're likely to get company on the way. Make sure your cleric has Rebirth up, if there is any threatening point of this instance, it's this pull. Handle them as they come out with crowd control and engage them around the corner of the gate. This very well could be your last stop in Altgard! Geared for players levels 18-19, this is the other area in Altgard where you can fly and are encouraged to do so. You'll find quests here both in the camp on the ground, and at the camp near the top of the Heart of Impetusium. There are also quite a bit of mobs here so you won't be left wanting for something to lay waste to.

Spiritmaster Class Guide

The spiritmaster is based on the 4 elements of life: water, fire, earth and wind. Exactly like the sorcerer but there are some huge differences between the two classes. The spiritmasters attacks mostly include DOTs (Damage over time) and also some nukes. Although their nukes aren't that powerful as the sorcerer's, the effect can still be seen.A spiritmaster is a summoner, meaning that they usually have a kind of pet with them during battle. This class can only summon one of the 4 spirits at a time, depending on the combat type. Some spirits are based more on DPS (Damage per second) attacks, others are based much more on tanking. The player has to choose the right one between the creaturesThe spiritmaster relies on mp just like the sorcerer. This two classes consume a lot mp and money too, but the leveling is a lot quicker like this.

PVP/PVEA skilled player which knows how to use the skills of the spiritmaster can beat most of the classes in aion. A stealthy assassin can easily kill a spiritmaster, because of the low defence that this class has. The spiritmasters wear cloth making it one of the most offensive classes. But with the help of a good pet this character can survive. In PvE a spiritmaster has no problem killing mobs. Choosing the right pet does the whole job. And because of this fact their hp hardly decreases. They have good skills to give their pet extra hp and defence from the brutality of them being on the front line. The combination of pet and master is indeed very strong. As for proffesions cooking and alchemy are essential. Cooking is very useful in making food which serves as a buffing mode. Alchemy can be used to make mp potions. And also a good player can earn some money this way. The spiritmasters are a well balanced class. And neither positives outweigh the negatvies.

Gladiator Class Guide

The gladiator is one of the most defensive classes in game (but less than templars). This class usually serving as a back up class to templars or sustained medium DPS. Gladiators wear plate armor which means his defence is really high. Although both classes can serve as tanks the Templar is a better tank.
A gladiator is based on HP not on MP, that's the reason why it has a large amount of hp and a really small one of mp. A gladiator can fight as long as it has hp because it doesn't require much mp to fight, Its a real advantage.
This character can survive in well in partys but also is able to solo. One of the most wanted classes especially in important partys looking to tackle something big.
Its faster to fight in party mode to gain xp faster due to the DPS of a gladiator isnt that high.
In PvP the gladiator has real problems in beating up any mage class because of the high DPS that those classes have. If the mage can keep the distance between him and the gladiator then the mage wins the fight. Although this doesnt mean that the gladiator is a weak class.

Ranger Class Guide

The ranger is a very important class within the game. They have long range attacks preventing much damage to them and also can continue firing targets as they run/move away. They are very powerful against melee attacks hardly use their MP and can plant traps.

The ranger is a very useful class within partys for its nice skills and fast attacks. Its also cheaper to use rather than a spiritmaster/templar due to lack of useage of MP.
Although with all classes there are disadvantages. Due to the long ranged attacks these require arrows etc and can be costly. You have to keep a distance between you and the enemy to fight to reduce the damage you take. Unfortunately you dont have as many character control skills.
One big difference between the ranger and the assasin is the fact that the assassin is stronger in short range attacks, and the ranger is much more powerful in long range attacks.
The ranger class is a complicated and hard to play but i think this makes it much more interesting. The ranger is based on long range attacks, because it has equipped a bow. This is a positive thing because the ranger can cause some damage before the opponent/mob reaches him.
In PvE, the ranger can fight in both modes: solo and party. It is much better to play in party mode, but it is ok to fight alone too. It depends on you . If you don't want to share any drops of yours with others, it is better to play solo.
Once you seek the higher levels you will notice a difference.

Open letter to the NCsoft Community

Greetings Aion Players,
It has been a very busy year for us here at NCsoft West and our executive producer would like to take the time to address our communities today. Lance Stites is the head of NCsoft West's Game Production Studio in Seattle, overlooking many game franchises; including Aion, Lineage and Exteel.
In order to keep you updated on what is happening with our games, Lance would like to provide some insight into recent events and a scope of what is on the horizon for our studio as a whole. Please read on to gain a piece of unparalleled insight into NCsoft West's current operations.
Greetings and salutations, It's been just over three months since I've settled into the Seattle office, and I must say it's been an incredibly busy 100 days. The restructuring has resulted in the staffing of the NCsoft West Game Production Studio, which, as previously mentioned is tasked with supporting the Lineage and Aion franchises, as well as Exteel. At this point I'd like to pause and address the wider audience of all of the products supported by our NCsoft West Game Production Studio--Lineage, Exteel, Lineage II, and Aion.
Our major release with Lineage II on the North American 5 year anniversary was a big accomplishment on April 28. This was Producer Sam Han's first launch at the helm of this project. His many years as Associate Producer and Customer Service experience with the project served him well. Sam and team are currently in planning stages for the upcoming months. Recent additions to the team include Assistant Producer Marissa McWaters and Community Manager Lauren Duncan.
With Lineage and Exteel, we welcome a new face via our European and Korean office. Hyunah Chun will be taking the lead of both projects as Producer. Hyunah will be in transition mode while she relocates to the Seattle office from the European office. We'll continue working with the existing Lineage team to deploy weekly maintenance, events and also work to deliver our next big update. We are also working to update Exteel with the latest content from Korea. While we are making every effort to deliver timely updates, our resources are being stretched supporting existing and upcoming projects.
Of course, all eyes are currently on our next big release: Aion. We have some staff announcements of the team that will lead this project through launch. Brian Knox has been functioning as the project's Producer for the past few months and is doing a fantastic job. He's wrangling all the production elements and working with the various teams to ensure a top quality product and service. Supporting him in this role is Chris Hager, recently transiting from the Lineage II team. Chris is ensuring Quality Assurance support, age ratings submissions, beta tests, coordination with IT teams for server and software deployments, and host of other support issues. Adding to this leadership is Lani Blazier, whom I am happy to report has transitioned from Community Manager to Associate Producer. Lani will continue to support the community effort, but from the production standpoint and will provide guidance to our other Community Managers, Martin Rabl and Sebastian Streiffert. We're interviewing for the French Community Manager position--I'm personally well aware of the enthusiastic French gamer community, having witnessed the Festival du Jeu in Paris of last year, so I do consider this a priority addition to the team.
I know that many fans are extremely anxious, impatient even, awaiting the release of Aion. I can assure you the team is fully engaged in the release of this product. We've got an army of creative writers generating an enormous amount of rewrites as we execute to our total commitment of quality of content. Our Localization Manager has vendors in place, keeping pace with the French and German translation. We're actively recruiting an additional native German speaking localization Project Manager and have added QA Testers (native French and German speaking) to the Seattle office. We've got Voice Over recordings underway (of course for all three languages) and our PR and Marketing teams are releasing the hounds--you've likely seen the articles on class descriptions hit the internet. We also have tutorial videos in production, this should provide a great Aion first experience--both to novice and experience MMO players. We've shared details of our Collector's Edition recently, our first public access beta event was very well received, and we'll continue these events through our launch. We'll have a flood of information in the upcoming days and invite you all to share the experience as Aion takes flight in North America and Europe this fall.
Faith and arms,
Lance Stites
Executive Producer, Game Production Studio

Aion Launch Version

One of the most frequent questions the Aion team has heard from players during the beta events is, "What version is the North America and Europe game launching with?" We're happy to announce today that Aion is planned to release with version 1.5, the third major game update, bringing the content as up to date as possible. The Aion team strives to keep the game content consistent between territories, and releasing with this game version brings us one step closer to this goal.
Stay tuned to the official web site for more details about version 1.5 and the release of Aion!

Aion at Comic-Con! gamescom and PAX

Don't miss your chance to meet the Aion team and check out the NCsoft booth at this summer's hottest events. Aion is going on the road and will be at the San Diego Comic-Con, gamescom in Cologne, and the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle this summer!
First on our itinerary is the San Diego Comic-Con, July 22-26 at the San Diego Convention Center. Swing by Booth #5005 to experience the thrill of flight in Aion and chat with members of the Aion staff, including Producer Brian Knox, Associate Producer Lani Blazier, and Community Manager Sebastian Streiffert. You might even score some of our great giveaways that include beta keys, t-shirts, and an exclusive poster by Aion's Art Director Hyungjun Kim!

gamescom kicks off its first year in Cologne, Germany on August 19-23, and PAX hits Seattle on September 4-6. More details about these events are coming soon.

We hope to see you at one of these exciting events!

Aion's Limited Collector's Edition selling

The popularity for Aion's Limited Collector's Edition has literally surged since announced one and a half months ago. We're very excited by the demand we've seen for Aion overall, both in our beta test events and in preorders and presales of the game. We specifically have seen incredible demand for the Limited Collector's Edition version of the game, of which we are producing 50,000 copies in North America and Europe. In some cases, retailers in both territories have indeed sold out of their allotments. However, there are still copies available and the best way to ensure you can get your hands on a collector's edition before launch is to preorder it today either from brick & mortar and online retail outlets, or you can order the digital limited edition version of Aion from digital retailers. Go to Aiononline.com for a list of our retail partners.

As a reminder, those who preorder the game today are given access to the remaining beta events leading up to the game's launch in September. We've been incredibly happy with the response we've seen to our beta testing thus far, which began a little over a month ago. The beta test events have not only been a great way for players to get a taste of what promises to be the biggest MMO of 2009, but has also provided NCsoft with the ability to identify issues and ultimately ensure the best MMO experience possible at Aion's launch.

Heads-up for Closed Beta

A week has passed since the third closed beta event ended and left you to the cold and bitter world outside Aion. The good news is that only one week remains until the next electrifying beta event commences. Here's what you will want to remember:

One of the more common items of feedback during our previous beta event pertained to server stability and we have made sure to address this specifically with the updated client for the coming weekend. Find below a list of updates for CB4:

•Increased server stability

Fansites in our highly treasured Fansite Programme will be launching various events and competitions this week if you don't yet have a beta key secured for the weekend. Make sure to keep an eye open for these, but be extra observant and vigilant - the numbers are scarce. Another way to make sure that you'll be a part of the action is to preorder Aion via one of the retailers we work with on this page.

More Closed Beta events will follow in July and August, giving even those of you haven't yet been able to try the game an excellent chance to do so.

Remember to come to Comic-Con!

For those of you fortunate enough to be making your way to San Diego in one week (July 22-26), the amazing Comic-Con awaits at the San Diego Convention Center. Much joy is to be had should you choose to go there, and in particular, should you stop by Booth #5005 where we will proudly be showcasing Aion and distributing an array of much coveted goodies. If the two words "beta keys" make you nod frenetically in agreement, if the prospect of Aion t-shirts makes your heart pound faster than you're used to, and if you have a sacred spot on your bedroom wall for an exclusive poster by Hyungjun Kim, you will definitely want to be there. Members of the Aion Team, including Producer Brian "Xaen" Knox, Associate Producer Lani "Liv" Blazier and Community Manager Sebastian "Ayase" Streiffert will of course be present if you have questions, compliments or are simply up for a chat about the Aion we've all grown to love.

We are incredibly excited to see many of you there and are already in the middle of careful preparations to make sure that once the convention ends - you'll be leaving with great memories.

Hope to see you there!

Aion website gets a refresh

The PowerWiki hosts all sorts of information about the game and will surely become a valuable pool of knowledge for every adventurer in Atreia. Please remember that it is still in an early beta phase - more content will continously be added and we are also aiming for having it localized into French and German around the time of the game's launch.

If you are new to the game and just got your beta key for this weekend, you might enjoy the Beginner's Guide which will tell you all about your first steps on your way to becoming a Daeva. From there you can follow the various hyperlinks and explore the PowerWiki for more detailed information about all the different aspects and features of Aion.

Another good news is that the Closed Beta Event #4 has just begun and while most of you already know that you can take part in all beta events until launch if you preorder the game from one of our official partners you will be glad that we just added another partner to our network. The game is now available on Steam so feel free to head over there and get your copy of Aion digitally distributed directly to your PC.

The Aion Facebook community is growing bigger and bigger reaching out to over 11.000 fans at the time of this article. Those fans are coming from all over the world and we are now providing you a way of finding other fans who speak your language and recruits for your legion.

The so called community meeting point is divided into five sections:
Recruiting legions
Legion leaders who are currently looking for new members can leave a posting here together with details about their legion. If you are interested in joining one of the legions just send them a message via Facebook or follow the instructions they've provided in their posting.
English speaking fans.

This is the place to go if you would like to meet other English speaking fans. Leave a posting here with details you would like to share about yourself. For example you can tell other fans in which city you live (you might even be able to find other fans near you) or your public Twitter profile (get new followers).

French speaking fans
Our French speaking community on Facebook is very impressive and already using this place to get in touch with each other. Post your details there (like mentioned above in the English section) and find new friends.

German speaking fans
Of course the same applies for the German section, our third officially supported language for Aion in the West. "Sprechen sie Deutsch?" Then head off to the German section and socialize in your native language.

Other languages
While we officially support English, French and German we would still love to offer all our fans speaking a different native language the chance to connect in an easy way. Feel free to visit this section and leave your details so that others can find you.

Is Aion losing its shine?

Double experience in Aion makes me far happier than I really should be over numbers in a video game but it made me remember what I adore about MMOGs. Progression, that feeling of accomplishment, is what a lot of us play for but when things get a little stale, then what? I fully admit that the reason progression is slow for me is because I'm an adventurer. I like to quest for experience and I spend a lot of time just running around with no particular place to go. This means I pretty much miss out on dungeon runs, which are excellent experience, and crafting which also can be very rewarding.Have you lost that lovin' feeling? Come and read what I intend to do to stoke the burning fires of love in Aion and while you're there, catch up on the latest Aion news.

It's not a big surprise that Aion previews can be found all over the internet now that a broader audience is able to look at it during our closed beta events. Loyal fans of Aion who are following the development of the game for a while now will be glad that the feedback from our players and press shows that it was worth the wait.
Let's see what IGN, Zam and IncGamers have to say:
IGN
" ... with those visuals, that flight and the remarkably powerful character creator, it's a far more epic and lavish experience than we've seen to date"
ZAM
"Interestingly enough, however, despite the fact that I did go into this with fairly (ok, extremely) high expectations, Aion was impressive enough that I could really understand what all of this hype was about."
IncGamers
"I thought the class selection screen was impressive, but I was blown away by this stage. The face that greets you as you begin to design your character is uncannily realistic."

Ten Ton Hammer Class Interview - Sorcerer

Associate Producer Lani "Liv" Blazier is back with the latest look at the classes of Aion, this time with a spellbinding look at the Sorcerer. Lani shares tips for playing a Sorcerer, answers burning questions about the game, and more, so visit Ten Ton Hammer now to check out this comprehensive class interview.

Which Do You Use?

Both! If you don't have a preference, then you can easily use both in certain situations. If you're not close to town but have some nice items in your bag, stop in at the nearest outpost, toss up your store, and go for a bio break. Save your biggest and best items, such as green or blue armor and weapons, for the broker as these tend to fetch quite a bit on the market but feel free to unload your smaller items wherever you happen to be and you will be rewarded with lighter bags and a heavier purse.

Eltnen can be easily overwhelming

Get your guided tour through this huge zone!If you're an Aion Elyos then you'll be spending a whole lot of time in the big and dangerous zone of Eltnen. Encompassing enough content to take you from level 20 all the way through level 40, Eltnen can be easily overwhelming. No need to try to take it all in at once, we have the zone highlights prepared for you! Many of the early quests here will be gathering quests which will be impossible to do if your gathering skills are low. Before you even step foot in Eltnen, work on your vitality gathering in Verteron so that it is 100+. If you really have no interest in gathering vitality or aether but still want credit for the quests, you can always buy or trade for the materials, but keep in mind that it will be expensive.

The grind and the missing incentive

Just fyi i did cancel my Aion subscription recently. I did not really miss the game during my short break and that - at least for me - is always a bad sign. Despite what NCsoft says, the grind and the missing incentive (eg. finding new useful & fun stuff on mobs etc.) plus many people leaving i was playing with did the rest. In addition there are some core problem with class balance for melee & ranged classes at the higher levels IMO. I don't want to rant too much here or go further into detail. I got a bunch of unfinished maps and instance stuff, but don't think I'll publish them since i dislike posting unfinished stuff. Maybe if i get bored i might finish some and add them here some day.
I'm not sure what the next MMO will be i play or if I'll start a new blog about it, but you can be sure I'll keep you posted about it. From the looks of it i might play Allods Online (EU) casually for a while and see how that moves along. If you'll play on the EU server and want to team up, poke me about it.
So to all readers, some of you followed me since WAR, thanks for reading and all those nice eMails and ingame chats.

An adjustable smoker box is perfect

Rotisserie backburners are a popular option. Used to cook large pieces of meat evenly, rotisseries use a lot less heat than normal grilling. BTU ranges generally range in the 13-15,000 category but the best grills offer 18-28,000 BTUs. Meats cooked using a rotisserie are generally juicier, self-basted and slow roasted. Tip - look for a model with a drip tray to make cleanup easier. Be sure to compare available rotisserie space, especially if you want to roast a turkey or two.
A Triple Gourmet Grill allows you to use gas, infra-red AND charcoal cooking! How versatile can you get!!

An adjustable smoker box is perfect for those who enjoy the added flavor of hickory, mesquite or other wood to your meats. It makes smoking easy. Adjustable vents allow you to control the amount of smoke flavor to provide just the right taste.
Warranty is one of the most important features to consider. Only the best grills offer a warranty against a condition called burn through which affects the burners.

Discussing Aion money

Fluid Power is an applied product not just something you call up and get without knowing something about. Having a better understanding of fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics) is so important to the person marketing this type of applied product. One cannot expect to get any technical or design help from some of the large companies that only sell from a page in a book and an item number. This is most important to the end user, and should be taken into consideration when looking at fluid power components and selecting vendors. I will be discussing this in detail in future articles.

If you continue to follow my articles I will attempt to explain the solenoid valve components and details used in fluid power and will give you access to join my monthly eBooks and videos for the most inexpensive and comprehensive Fluid Power Training on the planet.

Game Guard problems the game currently

Just a quick note: I had this very problem earlier this morning, despite never having it before. I tried it a few times with the suggested command line fix, but it did not change anything. What did help me was: Make a backup of the addcache.xml file in your Aion folder to be save. Open the original file with a text editor and change the content in both lines to -ip:206.127.147.28 -port:2106 -cc:2, now save the file and make it read-only. It seems that Aion somehow messes around with the file at every login. In addition enter the command line from above in your Aion launcher properties - not even sure thats needed with the read-only file, but was too lazy to try it out and it can't hurt. After i did the above i was able to log into the game fine, no problems anymore at all. Reminder: I play on a EU server, you need to change IP data for us. Maybe this helps some of you. Please remember you made these changes and revert them back after open beta.
On an open beta related note, NCsoft posted some Open Beta Updates to let us know they are working on the fixes. The official forums still contain very little to no information on the known infos tho. Looks like they're throwing out more beta keys as well.
Beside the login, crash, lag and Game Guard problems the game currently has to deal with there are also some wierd ingame bugs that annoy the hell out of me: If you use shield skills like eg. Shield Defense I your auto-attack is turned off sometimes. In addition the "new" left-mouseclick camera look is not behaving like we're used to and if you move at the same time while looking around some wierd behaviour occurs, like turning you into a different direction and such.

I'm always open to try out new MMOs

Quite a few weeks since my last blog update. During the holidays and the new year I've been rather busy with friends & family. At the start of this year i took a new job, therefore my time to play was rather limited, but tbh i did not miss Aion that much. *sadface* My subscription is still active and I'll decide over the upcoming weeks what I'll do about it. There are a few people that contacted me for various reasons per email and i still did not get back to all of them, my appologies but you have not been forgotten. There were also some, after my last blog post, that suggested new MMOs to me or offered me beta keys to upcoming titles. Very cool of you guys, thanks. I'm always open to try out new MMOs, so just keep poking me... I might consider it.During the holidays i had a friend over and we wanted to hang out and play some computer games together. Since he did not bring a Laptop with him, that only left us with my desktop computer. If you own a console there are plenty of games that offer cooperative gameplay - at the same time, on the same screen - but with a normal PC things look different. If you do not include any shooters or racing games, what co-op games are you left with? To be honest i had to do quite some research to find a few titles that are fun to play. I'll share the best with you!

Different recipes use different cutting

The proper cutting technique is one the most important things you will need to learn in order to cook like a professional. Different recipes use different cutting techniques for Stainless steel, so it’s important that you know when and how to use each one. Improper cutting can lead to food with an unexpected taste in it, or, worse, a meal that simply tastes terrible. Thus, Wok Fusion presents a guide for those of you who don’t know the difference between slicing and dicing.

It is important to consider two things before you start cutting. These are buying the right Chinese cleaver, and holding it with a proper grip. These two things can have a significant impact on the effectiveness of your cutting skills, so it’s recommended that you read more about these in the follow two sections.

Regarding this amazing video trailer

After NCsoft's release of the "Visions" trailer the Aion gaming community went up in a flame of curiosity, excitement, and undoubtedly a little concern. Not much has been said regarding the trailer but Ten Ton Hammer was afforded the opportunity to ask a few questions about the trailer and the future of Aion.

Ten Ton Hammer: We’ve seen things such as mounts and underwater zones in the Visions video. How much of the content we’ve seen is end-game content and how much of it will be available to new Aion subscribers?

NCsoft: It’s too early to tell, but needless to say we’re aiming at striking a balance between end-game content and new content for new subscribers. We thank Executive Vice President, Game Operations and Production Lance Stites for taking the time to respond.

Aion's upcoming massive update 1.9

News has been trickling in on Aion's upcoming massive update 1.9 that is geared to impress a waning playerbase. While information gets smuggled out by brave NCsoft CMs, Ten Ton Hammer takes a more traditional approach and snags an interview with Aion Producer Chris Hager to find out more on what update 1.9 will bring. Check out details on already announced features and learn about a few new features that will give hopeful players something to look forward to.

Weapon rentals: "We'll have a weapon rental shop with 1.9. If you're in a hurry and you don't have a lot of kinah but have some (or maybe it's a double xp weekend), and you really want to go play with your friends or level up, you can actually go to a merchant and rent better equipment than you have that's on a timer similar to those daily quest rewards. You can go and have fun, and spend a fraction of what you'd spend on buying it."

The Ranger of Aion

Get a detailed look at the Ranger class and see exclusive images!
Continuing our series on the classes of Aion, we have another great interview for our readers. Check out the bow-toting scout that is known as the Ranger!
This keen-eyed master of the shadows is more than just a silly guy with a bow and arrow. The Ranger class has an impressive arsenal of powerful weapons, that not only can take down the occasional enemy before he even gets close enough to spit on, but when needed can also slice and dice with the best of them in melee combat.
Ten Ton Hammer: While many fantasy games have the Ranger class, each game interprets it differently. In Aion, will the Ranger be strictly a ranged class or can fans hope to see some melee skill as well? Is there a balance or do players see a distinct edge by playing ranged versus melee?
Lani: A Ranger uses a bow when the enemy is far away, a sword when they are close and a trap when the enemy begins to draw nearer. So its strategy can change depending on the enemy’s location and situation. The idea still stays true to the Ranger playing style however; use your long range skills to deplete the enemy’s health, and then lure them in closer for the final up close and personal blows.

Aion a run for their money

Established games, whether they launched years ago or months ago, always find themselves competing with the new kids who come onto the scene and this coming year has some huge games making a show giving games like Aion a run for their money. While fans line up for the launches of the new titles of 2010, the folks at NCsoft will be working hard to keep us interested and playing. What will it take for Aion to compete?

Balance is never perfect and while it should always be something that we strive for, I think most players realize that PvP balance is an ongoing challenge and never a true state of being. More hardcore PvPers (which I am not) may have much more in depth ideas, but my hopes for Aion PvP is very basic…I desire a level playing field and more reason to kill other players.

Find out how to earn your wings!

Whether you are Asmodian or Elyos, the first 10 levels of your time in Aion are just a small taste of what you will experience for the length of your character's life. Real adventure and challenge begins once you have completed your ascension quests, have chosen your class path, and are initiated as a Daeva. It is at this time you gain your wings and finally get to learn the intricacies of your character's career choice.

There are two ascension quest lines in game, one for each faction. These quests are given to you automatically when you reach level 9 and can be found under the "Campaign" tab of your quest journal. You can choose to do the quests as soon as you get them, or you can wait until you've finished up your time in the newbie area. You won't be able to progress much further until you've chosen your class path and have ascended, but remember that you can always travel back to the beginner area after you have ascended if you want to complete quests or help out friends!

The first order of business is to find and speak with Pernos. If you've been questing then you've probably already met him. If not, he can be easily found along Agaric Spore Road in the northern part of Poeta. After a long dialog, he sends you on a mission to fill a vial from the center island of Cliona Lake. Once you've found the location, open your inventory and right click the vial to fill it!
